Singing at the O2

On Friday the 27th of January, about 77 children went to the amazing O2 with the wonderful teachers Miss Goulet, Mr Gregory,Vivian and Miss Heath.

Before the rehearsals began we played games like duck duck goose and wink murder. At the O2 during the rehearsal we met three special people there names were Andy,Laura and Tom. We sang many songs like Power in Me, The world of union, hyper, pop medley, the gospel train, river deep mountain high, Is there life on Mars and beat boxing but I was enjoying the concert so much that I forgot the rest of the songs.

During the rehearsal, we practiced the songs we were going to sing later in the evening.

At the concert, we had YV torches and we got to shine at our parents and during most of the songs, our parents had torches as well. They shined it to get hold of there children, but we didn't actually know where they were. During the concert, we did beat boxing and it was really funny first the Lady did a impression of a baby crying and the man made the gurgling sound and the other man made a robot sound, during the world in union we had to do oh ah until the conductor David to us to stop.

It was a really fun day. We worked hard every Friday morning to learn our words. I will continue be part of the choir again next year!!!

Colourful Fractions

In maths, we are learning about data.We learnt about a Brazilian artist called Romero Britto who does pop art and cubism. We all created a picture on a hundred square paper and we swapped pictures with a partner to work with. In our books we counted all the squares by color on the sheet we were given

E.G. 41/100 squares were pink and 7/100 were blue.

This then turned into fractions which soon turned into a bar graph.
We did this by using the fractions from the 100 square pictures to create a bar chart. When I created my bar chart I used Excel and Word. I typed in my information in Excel and created the graph on Word. It looked like this when I had created on word.

I completed this task with James Orchard and Alex Wong who both successfully finished the task with me.
