Learning about money

On Tuesday June 28th, class Mars and Venus participated to an activity offered by Halifax.
During the presentation, we learned how banks work as well as investigated some money problems.

It was a great opportunity to work in mixed Maths, solving worded problems using their knowledge of money. Throughout the year, we have learned about the value of money and practiced our column addition written method. We have used and applied these skills during this activity.

The hardest activity was to evaluate what you can buy with £10, £20 and £50. Poppy would spend £50 on a ticket to a theme park, Eshar would be spending her £50 on a hotel night.

What would you buy with £50?

  5. This lesson was quite fun, but also confusing due to the fact that I learnt that the same objects cost different prices in different places.

Money is one of the most valuable thing in the world.

  12. Working in a bank is not exactly my thing although this has shown me that working in a bank would be rather exiting! Not only that,we learnt that saving money in the bank is better than using it when you just got it or borrowing it from the bank. In addition to that,we thought about what we would buy with different amounts of money.Replying to the question I would buy a new series of murder mysteries.🤑
