This week we have been looking at the cities that the Anglo-Saxon places and what bits of land they named like Wessex and East Anglia. These were kingdoms where the Angles, the Saxons and the Jutes settled.
How we did it is we went on to a reliable website Google maps and found where they all were.
Then,we identified on our map where it was.
Some, were up high north and some were down south by a water source. Most of them were in Wessex and some were not.
Also, some of us took the little man and saw what everyone was doing. We learned that this app is called "street view" and it allows you to see in real the place you are looking at.
The towns we named were Woking ,Oxford,Marston,Oakley and Woolwich. The kingdoms were Northumbria,Mercia,East Anglia,Essex,Kent,Sussex and of course Wessex.
